I used to travel from Hastings to Preston on a Friday... the 300 miles usually took 11 hours. Average speed for the trip was rarely above 30 mph. #lifestooshort

Took me 5 hours once, to cover the 30 miles to university.

When I got there, they'd closed the place due to the snow.

Took me another 5 hours to drive home again.

My boss from my previous life thought the snow wasn't so bad 2 winters ago and took 8 hours for 8 miles - really. We still don't know why he didn't abandon it and walk.

I've been behind the wheel now for 9 hours and 7 minutes, covering 180 miles from south of exeter to just north of birmingham! Got another 300 miles to go with another 2 sections of the M6 reportedly closed. Give up?
