Friends from Brampton have been keeping me updated about this story.

Good to see he's not been able to get away with this stupid vandalism to make another fast buck.Seems like the bloke has put everyone's backs up about this locally. Lots of the prosecution case was based on photos and other testimony from ordinary people who have been walking and visiting this wood over the years. Good on them for standing up to this rich bully trying to throw his weight about.

Agreed. Money alone is no real deterrent when somebody is well-able to afford it. A punishment needs to be something sufficiently off-putting which will actually impact upon them personally.

The company would be accountable IF they owned it, reading the blurb it is owned by the man privately.

There's no way of knowing if he had knowledge of what was going on. It may have been instigated by an estate manager, head keeper etc.
