I'd want an extra oner Hodge.

Sounds ridiculous, but its half your morning gone on top of fuel and miles on your truck.

I'm with Mick.

I'd explain the situation to them and try and hook them up with a decent supplier in their new area.

I have tried to put them in touch with someone else but they want to use me, I will just give them a price and see what happens:)

Actually delivery has to be charged at the same rate as the product being delivered - so 5% for WoodFuel products & 20% for equestrian wood pellets. As confirmed by HMRC.

Sorry HertsWood, I was about to correct you but.........

HMRC originally told me that if delivery is included in the price or free then the VAT liability is the same rate as the goods (the main supply) so 5% to the end user for firewood, but that if a delivery charge is made (a separate supply of services) then VAT should be charged at the standard rate of 20%.

After looking at HMRC notice 700/24 section 2, and in particular at section 2.3 I phoned them again and they confirmed that it is still 5% VAT to the end user even if delivery is itemised as a separate charge. :thumbup1:

have you got tachographs in your landy's around here they just started cracking down on people if your delivering logs in a trailer you need a tacho.

I do free delivery upto 150 miles out which pretty mush covers me from mallaig to peterhead down to A69 A66 if you twist my arm a bit, south of that its by pallet which is charged at cost +£5 for banding n wrapping, I just insist they buy enough bags to justify the mileage.
