3/8 chain on a husky 346xp

Im going to get the sprocket next time I order from chainsawbars. Because I have some old chains and bars lying around. Just to try them.

I Also have 357xp so flexible for me. I always think its better to go narrower as width is going to sap power. But on the bigger saws you need the strength.

You may have a problem with the oiler drive ???

Blimey, not this one again....if you are using Oregon power rim then just change the rim drive. If you are using OEM clutch drum then you may need to change the drum, rim and oiler!

 

I have considered 3/8 but would need to do timed cuts to see how 3/8 performs!

I used to run big 3/8 on mine, mainly for scrub clearance work, I found less derailments and generally more robust. I didn't notice any reduction in cutting performance just a little heaver.

I have done the comparisons on 50cc stock and 3/8 cuts fastest. Stock 45cc .325.

Woods ported 45cc and 50cc 3/8.
