Reasons to use suncream

It's very dangerous lads. My mrs in still recovering from skin cancer. Amongst others. Religiously wear factor 50.

I never burn, just tan. Never wear sun screen, lived in Thailand for two years and never a problem there either. So my question is are you still at risk of skin cancer in my situation?

I'm the same as you . Never burn never used to used sun cream and go nut brown almost immediately . I am 60 years old now and still go nut brown . Don't actually deliberately sun bathe but last year started using spray on stuff when on holiday in Florida . Think I will always do so now on holiday . Had a friend die of skin cancer recently .

Who you calling pastie!. Picture was taken in June a couple of years ago.

Probably not a situation that you arb types suffer with, but that year having worked outside all winter, my summer job was 100% inside. Only time I saw the sun was when I took a trip to the bushes for relief. Unfortunately the same this year. Should finish my current inside job in early august, ready for the winter outside. Better hope this hot spell holds out for me. Still I only work 3 days a week now so its not too bad this year.

Best stuff to use is P20, apply once a day and it does the trick all day

Yep. P 20 is the way forward , apart from when it goes in your eyes when sweating. ARRRRRRRRGGH

I suspect a lot is to do with the steady acclimitazation to the Sun.

As a farmers son I never knew suncream existed.

But never burned, because working outside from the spring into summer I steadily accalimatized as I worked.

But possibly more crucially I never "sunbathed".

On a fortnights holiday to Rimini aged 17 or 18 I was near black.

No suncream that I recall.

Seriously, so dark I did not recognise myself when I turned up a photo recently.

The wife used to go bright red and invariably peel.

But since she started gardening, outside for probably 9 months of the year, every year (after her premature retirement), she is now reasonably innured.

Since my breed all "coup" with strokes and heart attacks, I doubt I need worry about skin cancer.

Anyway the harm was already done 40 year ago.

When on holiday in the US, i got bumrnt on my chest really. Falling asleep on an inflatable n the pool is a bad idea i can tell you!

 

Im not kidding when i say my chest was like a piece of pork crackling.

 

Was in agony for weeks.

 

I nearly passed out when i applied some aftersun with pain killer in it...lidocaine or sommat...

Stung like mother £&@#%* !!!!!!

 

That was a few years ago but pay close attention to any moles etc that may appear.

 

And no i dont mean the furry little beggars that tear up ur lawn!
