too early in the season

iv a hand full of contracts which involve grass cutting, today i was shocked to find a couple of contractors cutting the grass

is it me or have the seasons come too soon?

i wouldnt dare get the mowers out yet..

anyone else noticed this?

I noticed today the councils and the college groundsman all out on the mowers around here, it does seem earlier, but it did smell nice

A bit early why? If the grass is growing, you cut it. Simple. I did my first cut of the year last week and my contracts have always stipulated one cut in december, january and february. That's what my clients ask for. What's the worst that can happen?

obviously paid by cut so of course they get out there as early as poss.

cutting in dec-jan? wouldnt dare potter round my contracts on a ride-on mower. dont think they'd like the nice lawns ripped up...

a couple of winter cuts helps keep away diseases, but ground conditions will have a lot to do with it, i saw some guys today scarifying, best thing to do if you ask me, get some fresh air into the turf:001_smile:
