Great video, I loved it. Think I might have a go at your felling cuts on the main stem. I haven't seen those ones before coming in under the sink cut. So both entertaining and educational, good job dude!

nice vid that TC, good job on the removal, pity to see a Deodar go. Having said that I helped a mate out this week with one he was removing, will put up a short vid of it sometime soon.

Thanks for all the feedback. The answer to the main question. The cuts I was doing while chogging down the stem are effectively a step-cut with a face on it. I saw the method on a video posted on here a few months ago. "The Swedish cut" I think.

 

Its still early days but I prefer it to a normal step-cut as the timber falls away easier.

I will ask my friend what editing programme he used.

 

It was a shame about the tree Scotspine. But it will give more light to the bigger Copper beech.
