Monsters of Rock was so much better named than Download festival.

I'm sure that when I was looking to buy tickets just after the lineup was released, the only options was full 3day tickets.

Was it any good?? What was worth seeing ?

Oh yes, the headliners were amazing, the other bands were great!

Iron maiden had a spitfire fly over for their opening, rammstein was plenty of pyrotechnics, and slipknot were mental

Just looked at the line up...thought Uriah Heep & UFO would be pensioners by now - sort of thing I was listening to back in the 70s:thumbup:

What happened to "The Monsters of Rock Festival" or am I just showing my age:blushing:

 You definitely are showing your age. I think monsters of rock, is the same as download, but stand to be corrected. Uriah Heep and UFO are still doing the business.

Love heavy rock. Them guitar solo's just blow me away. Favorite bands include: UFO, Rainbow (with Ronnie James Dio) Sabbath (again, with Dio) MSG, Y&T

Can't stand this modern metal. Think I'm showing my age too

Long Live Rock N Roll
