in need of new chainsaw trousers

hello all arbtalkers

 

I am in need of some new chainsaw trousers Type C

 

I have had sthil HI-FLEX. but found they ripped very easily and needing a lot of sewing/patching

 

I am currently on sip progress finding them good but with both pairs of trousers I am ripping them around the crotch area *no jokes about packages :lol::001_tt2::sneaky2:

 

so i would like to know

what do you use

pro's

con's

 

what would you change too/ if you would change at all

 

i am intrested to hear about the x-fit and the pfanner gladiator

It's a shame that no one has discussed this before, and that this didn't show up on the 'Search' facility....

 

Stretch Airs here, for what it's worth.

More bang for your (hideously highly priced) buck.

its a shame mark that you think i havent read through the countless other posts on the subject. but I like to get the latest info from people out on the ground actually using them day in day out.

Apologies Ian, I appreciate not all threads are relevant as new products come on to the market.

 

Hiflex are pretty comfy, but not durable as you have found.

 

Pfanner Stretch Airs have always been good, but traditionally had problems with zips and crotches blowing out.

 

I recently bought the new arborist C's to replace my 3 1/2 year old pair, and they seem to have reinforced this area.

 

They are hellish pricey, but cheaper trousers seemed to cost me more by not lasting.

 

Andy, the Oregon W's are available in type C.

Well, I can recommend the Oregon Ws, had mine about 2.5yesrs, probably done around about 6 months work in that time :biggrin: due to a slight "lay off". But I'm very pleased with the way they've lasted on tough jobs. Probably a bit cheaper than Stretches, good value for money.
