As title says,

Im am thinking of converting my Mk5 Hilux Double Cab into a tipper

Have any of you done this...?

Any photo's...?

Cheers

The double carries more weight than the single cab and the extra cab more still. The extra cab would be the best compromise as it has a bit more load space. I am not keen on building to high that far back on the chassis. Try and keep the weight down on the build by using ally floor and sides. Dont put too big a ram on otherwise before you know it the new body weighs 1/2 a tonne and you can only carry 500kg inc driver.

There was a thread on here before about these and some bloke said that he'd rather fork the chip out and spend the money on something else. I agree, what will that green hilux hold? A meter and a half cube maybe? Not worth the effort. Buy some ply and a potato fork and spend whatever this unit costs on a 3.5 tonner no matter how rough.
