Yeah I'd love to get some work with a company even if I have to commute within reason, but no one wants to touch you with no experience, so it's a bit of a catch 22.

Not sure why people aren't keen on taking on someone unpaid, it is free labour after all, not including the receipt of valuable on the job experience that is.

There is an element of training the competition.

You have already said that you will be gong after domestic works sooner or later, it might not be just the inexperience thing thats making them reluctant.

People could be forgiven for thinking you just wanted a look at how their firm works.

I can see what you mean, I am lookin to see how a firm works, i need to know if im to get a start in this industry. But I wouldn't be after domestic customers for a few years yet, can't see myself getting to climb for a few years yet, and I just don't know enough about the industry, can't see myself being competition for any firm out there to be honest.

Be that as it may its not what you perceive it's their perception that matters.

Ok..... so then he has to keep stum that he wants to become self employed and get a few years working for someone..... otherwise catch 22

Makes sense, it allows his mistakes to be paid out of someone else's wallet.

My early gaffs cost me a small fortune and I'm too shy to say what they were.
