Would be nice if they still sold the 200t I've had a go with a 201 and think they are underpowered :-/ it isn't just the power of the 540 that is great it is the handling of the saw in the tree! I might have to take to stealing that demo saw lol. They could at least give a date for releasing it, heard rumours they have gone into production!!

The problem with the 201 is everyone is comparing it to the 200. It's not an never will be. It's a pruning saw much like the 150t. Use it for what its designed, taking off small branches and its fine.

Just keep the 200 going until the husky comes out.

Well I do agree with you it is a pruning saw but when I'm dismantleing a tree I don't want to be lugging round a bigger back handled saw aswell! If I'm doing a box cut I need my climbing saw you cut fast so the branch falls horizontally. They shouldn't of made the 201 with less power than the 200, they need to be making stuff better.

I'm sorry but the 201 was as with all newer saws now, made to meet the emissions regulations as are all cars and anything with an engine now. It's not stihls fault blame the EU.

As husky are also having trouble getting there new topper to meet the regulations aswell, and in doing so are sacrificing power to meet the same emission. This is also what the hold up is with them releasing there saw. But I don't know if they have got past it yet.

Was the 540 you had a demo saw or one out or testing?

Reason I ask is last I heard from husky(last week) is that the saws out for testing which includes a revised one for the 2014 emissions have gone back to Sweden for evaluation. so hopefully:001_rolleyes: there may be some news soon.

So maybe give it another year or 3 and we might have one.:laugh1:
