£60 for the first, hour long consultation, then £40 per half hour treatment.

I use one now as he's proved more effective than sports physios and osteopaths (no-one can tell you the difference between an osteo and a chiro btw) but every person and every practitioner is different.

If he/she doesn't work for you try someone else, not necessarily a chiro. If your problem is medium/long-term keep trying them until you find one that works.

For your info, and possibly something to ask your chiro about, mine uses McTimoney Chiropractic

Only use a sports physio if it's muscular .

But who's to say if the problem is purely muscular? The symptoms may present as muscular pain but that doesn't mean the cause lies there.

Osteopathy is the manipulation of the body by your own movement (eg streching, bending etc). IT focuses on the whole body (but mostly spinal) extra therapy includes SKIMMER (relaxes the muscles by using low electrical current). It is a treatment offering an instant fix.

Chiropractic practitioners solely (typically) use their hands to manipulate the body (more commonly spinal). They offer dietary advice, home exercises and extra therapy includes acupuncture. It can be an instant fix or a long term fix.

Physiotherapists offer exercises for you to perform yourself and treat by manipulation. They specialise in the entire body including the squidgy bits, ie. cardiac care, respiratory and muscles/joints.

I hope this suitably confuses things :confused1:

Be careful with some complementary practitioners some, I know, have people they cannot help but keep taking the money. If it is not working for you try something else :001_smile:

I used to use them all the time. They get you back on your feet and up and running the quickest.

But if it's a disc problem it is likely to come back after a while, and those whiles may get shorter.

As far as I can remember it's your muscle going into spasm that causes the pain, they should be able to get the muscle out of spasm and get you back to normal quickly.

Mine got so bad I ended up having a double spine fusion 6 years ago, and have never had to see anyone since.

I did go for my first bike ride today in 6 years and it's aching a bit, but that's probably down to not getting myself in the right position with all the metal in my back.

This how I look now.
