Had me going there

You said elder, my head said elm and boy that would have been a small elm so I thought this was a wind up. When Rich joined in I knew my head was all wrong. Yes a big elder it was. Great bushes flowers and fruit much maligned in gardens and I can't think why. More attractive than ash/sycamore and grow to a better scale for small gardens. Good for the birds too. In fact I'm going to plant one in my own garden just to prove- should look good next to the poser olive:001_smile: I'll post a photo when I do.

Had to remove this elder today,it had a tpo on it,but the tree was failing, which is a shame, largest elder I have worked on to date.:001_smile:

Great set of shots there Geoff, interesting to see the cross sections. :thumbup1:

The fungi I've most often associated with old elder is the brown rotting Rigidoporus ulmarius.

Did you note any fruit body remains on your one?

Tpo on an Elder!!:confused1:

They are weeds, horrible horrible shrubs!!! I hate them, the smell alone annoys me!!

:sneaky2:

I heard the wine was quite nice though:laugh1:

Rich that's the first pictures I ever saw on an IPhone, and converted me to Micro chipping:thumbup:
