Dear god that is an unrulely pile of timber. Judging by the bleached wood on the top of the pile that has been there a while, at a guess

'there be rotting wood in the middle of the pile'

Run away run away

Does not look good at all ... fuel, hassle, time, rotting wood in the middle, splitting etc etc etc ... forget it.

Precisley. Gooey soggy mess under the weather exposed stuff.

400m3 less air space = a lot less...

I dont even no what cord wood is only mentioned just in case it was of any use to someone .What is cord wood?Theres also a large silver birch on ebay that has blown down free to any one who can be bothered to cut it up.In Dorset Something else for people to moan about. If it was near me id cut it up.Thanks

My definition may not be the same as the UK one.........We call cord wood timber that has been bucked to 4' and stacked ......a cord is 128 cubic feet (4x4x8 usually) there are variations and other names such a face cord kitchen cord etc.

The UK def may be diff tho
