theres never been any saftey issues with the lock jack has there??

No I don't think there has, the point I am making is that people should have confidence in their equipment. I used to trust that loop on the lockjack which most people would find harder to trust, so trusting the petzel zigzag is very easy for me.

Like Marc says, if people have to put in a redundancy system to trust it then perhaps the zigzag is not for them and should perhaps go back to something they do trust

As a precaution while the facts come out is ok imo

ok thats good, although like you i often look at the small amount of metal and think what if ,but realise someone with a lot more knowledge has deemed it safe and tested it so alls good.

just to throw a thought out, how come the ZZ is been sold in the uk/Europe with out a CE mark? How do you classify it on your LOLER

It is CE marked and approved for use with ropes from 11.5-13mm, I can't pretend to understand it fully but it appears to me that its not fully CE certified for use as an ascendor, descendor, rope grab or friction hitch..... Which seems odd.

I have in mine too. But better to be even more confident....

Great idea, you can never be to safe. I bet there are a few critics of the zigzag that are pissed you seem to have solved this unconfirmed 'issue'

no, the CE mark is the number of the test house, that carried out a CE type inspection:001_huh:
