zig zag failure?

I'm holding back until a bit of field testing has been carried out first. Not wishing to sound negative but I don't want to be a test pilot for Petzl!

I did like my Zig Zag when I had it but now that I have become so acostom to my hitch climbier I'm still unsure as to weather on not I am going to be getting the MK2 tbh. Might just get a new length of rope instead

Miss my Zigzag a lot, especially on sticky Sitka dismantles. I even considered making the 500 mile round trip to pinch Silky's prototype when he wasn't looking :-)

 

What rope were you using with it, Silky? The first one tended ok on the 13mm blaze, but others kept saying that the slightly thinner rope was the nuts for self-tending.

 

So money set aside for Zigzag2 AND a new rope perhaps.

I was just going to ask if you had tried it on 13mm but looks like you've already answered that one.

 

The difference between using it on 13mm to 11.5 was like night and day!

 

I hope they make it a bit more versatile this time around, or at the least have a couple of different sizes available.

I admit it does look good but I'm afraid i'm going to have to leave it for a while and stick with my hitch climber. Got it set up perfectly now but will keep the new ZZ in mind

So silky fox, what are the actually changes? i can only see a beefer attachment hole? and once you give feedback do they take not of what people say or i.e response to you advice etc.

From what I,ve seen they have beefed up the overall construction, so let's hope for higher than 15kn mbs, they have increased the angle which the friction chain can pivot, and improved the fair lead of the tail.
