zig zag failure?

Marc, briefly and without de-railing this thread could you explain the SRT setup you used for your AAAC assessment? Five years ago I'd imagine it was a SRT access (ascenders only setup), which IS an approved method for access and has been for some time. My post reffered to SRTWP.

It was srtwp and not only access, it was based on a RADS systems. Admittedly the majority of what they saw was on a doubled rope hitch set-up. But we were from memory praised for using SRT and leaving access lines and they saw no issue working off 10mm single line in an ascent descent configuration with a suitable device, after all its just common sense.

It all depends on who you get on the day.

As for the Zig Zag being single line compatible don't hold your breath unfortunately in my opinion they did not have the right people involved in design and development, whilst the friction part was nice the rest of the device felt flawed I hope it improves in mk2

What were your connectors for it then? Gri gri?

Gri-gri, Eddy, Petzl I'd even F8 revolver technique it makes no odds. In my opinion a GriGri or Cinch are not really suitable as primary single line work positioning tools even if I would/do use them myself.

I just find it frustrating that the leap from accessing a tree single line to working it single line cannot seemingly be made by some.
