Pulling ones own teeth

I wish I could ? I don't see it as tough or owt like that its just the pain I suffered as a kid still holds strong . Im actually quite embarrassed about it when its mentioned in conversation .:blushing:

I get over my nerves by getting him to explain exactly what he intends to do, show me the tools and give me a running commentary.

I find the most painful part of the whole experience paying at the end.... :blushing:

Found the below quote over at dentist talk forum under a thread titled 'colgate vs sensodyne'.

That's ace. But what the hell are you doing on a dentistry forum....?!?! :confused1::001_rolleyes:

I have more fillings than teeth (many of my teeth have several fillings) and 4 gold inlays.

I also suffered at the hands of the old school butcher dentists in my youth, but you only have one set of teeth, so I intend to keep mine.

My current dentist surprised me when I asked what he thought of my teeth, he said my teeth were pretty good because my roots and gums were healthy and every thing else was fixable.

I think pulling your teeth is a big mistake, I enjoy a nice steak and would hate to end up on nothing but soup.

I hear you loud and clear Huck . Some things are more deeply rooted than the teeth themselves though . Thanks for your input :001_smile:

The problem I have got is getting an appointment and then when the time comes the dentist cancels on me and have to wait for another appointment weeks down the line. It happened a couple of years ago that I had been let down twice and was in a bit of pain, clove oil was very temporary.

I tried several positions to try and get it out but found resting my head against the door frame and locking the vise grips onto the tooth was the answer. Don't think i'll try it again as the dentist was not pleased as they said they could have kept the base of the tooth and put a cap on it. Got a hole now. will get pic up when I find my sd card adapter. Wasted a favourite t shirt too with the blood.
