That Les Paul of mine, OK I know it's not an SG but it has a single coil option (it has 4 single coil options...) so you can get the thinner sound from it, but when it's not cranked up and you have it on humbuckers the combination of jazy mellow and sustain that lasts for about 5 minutes is a joy.

I always fancied an SG though, but I think that's because I wish I could play like Agus Young. Even just a wee bit like him would do.

I wanted an SG the first time I saw Zal Clemson play at my local hall . He was the lead for the late great Alex Harvey . ( I am 60 years old and I was about 18 - 20 when I first saw them ! )

In the list of bands I would like to have seen live but never will, Alex Harvey is in top 5. As you might expect, ACDC with Bon Scott is also top 5. MAybe it's the SGs, maybe it's the attitude. Can't stand plastic modern pop personnel by comparison.

Second that bud !

Did I spot a couple of acoustics in between all the axes on this thread :thumbup1: Almost, cept Gnome cut their heads off :001_tt2:

I was going to post mine, an EJ200 in sunburst, and a nice classical semi acoustic Gremlin with high tension strings for Spanish stuff  but I was intimidated by all the newfangled electrified axes :001_tt2:

any flat-pickers in the house?

No flatpicker but a fingerpicker. Blues and rag stuff. Was going to put pics of mine amongst all this electric stuff but not in the same class. Very old Fender acoustic and my latest parlour size Mariner amongst a motley collection.

I apologise for not being of the same class Graham. I am but a precariat so The Gibson Blueshawk is my only flashy guitar. I loved a variety of more affordable axes with the 7 string, acoustic bass and the sitar. The lefty strat was my favourite gigging one as it looked odd but has a great action on it. The electro acoustic is a Takamine ( for those that need to know!)with no fret markings and was a prototype from a rep( so got it at much cheapness). Sorry no PRS Santana signatures in my rack. :thumbup1:

Don't apologise. I meant mine weren't in the same class:001_smile: Perversely the guitars that are held in high esteem by players who want to capture that original blues sound are the original Stellas. Made in their thousands and sold cheaply. No truss rod and twisted necks. Now sold for a fortune.

Sabbath, with the late Ronnie James Dio on vocals. My ultimate band to see live, but never will.
