I bought myself a bass at the start of lockdown. I used to play quite a bit until about 12-14 years ago.

I just sold it again today as it just wasn't that interesting to play. In the intervening time I've learned to play piano (to a reasonable standard) and it's so much more versatile. I started out playing a lot of classical, but I often just sit at the keys now and work out songs that are floating around my head. It's quite nice to be able to do that - a means of expression that I wouldn't otherwise have if I didin't play an instrument :D

I've played guitar for about twenty years and always had a bass around but I've only played it seriously for the last year or so. I started a band and, since bass players are the lest reliable people in all of christendom, decided I'd do it myself because I'd at least be turning up. Sort of enjoying it but would happily let someone else do it. I have to sing as well. I've been working with my keys player on her parts so have a cheap keyboard set up here. Quite enjoying it and finding it more intuitive than the guitar for writing melodies, finding keys etc.

I was between a Faith Mercury in PMT and the equivalent Tanglewood in Windows the other day. Tanglewood won.

Aye, I've had my eyes on a Venus for a while, the right one came up at the right time. I've had a few tanglewoods over the years, good guitars.

I have a TW 45 as I said above but also a TW 145 . essentially the same instrument . The only difference is that the more expensive TW 45 looks posher being all gloss , the TW 145 being cheaper has a satin/matt surface to the sound board and actually sounds  better .
