I could be talking complete tosh, but i understand the problems with Fords and porous blocks (during a certain period of engine production) stemmed from using incorrect spec coolant or no coolant, causing internal corrision.

Water jacket leaks into oilways.

I am not a Ford man at all, so this is purely hearsay.

In your case more likely a cracked block or sprung frost plug, or even a split (perished?) hose/water pump?.

I were perhaps gitting a sherry mixed up.

We use Wilsons auctions in Mallusk to dispose o surplus bin lorries an shagged out lawn mowers.

They charge us (the Vendor) NOWT but I know() a buyers commission of 10% ( cos I payed it), BUT they collect from our yard (gratis) and there are no other fees to us.
