Seriously, there should be more stuff like this... tree videos sure get old quick, cut branch, branch caught by a rope, branch goes to the floor. :) Reg thanks for the inspiration.

My pleasure Ben. I didn't know for sure how it would go down, some people get all pi ssy about stuff like that, so you never know. If you cant laugh at yourself once in a while, then you're a nob, basically!

Finally got round to watching your half of the video Reg, nice win.:thumbup1:

You should pitch to the Discovery channel for a show....

Enjoyed it, like others have said, makes a nice change from straight cutting. You did make that cut rather a long way from the ground... Having back problems that day? :001_huh::laugh1:

We topped out a couple of big Western Red Cedars today beside a house. There's a septic field underneath one and a gas pipe running underneath the other. So the thinking is to fall them big, so the impact is spread throughout the whole 50 or 60 ft (however high they are) drop zone....as opposed to punching down shorter logs at the risk of a high concentrated impact.

I'm sorta tempted to give Jared a shot to even up the score if its safe to do so. We can definitely slam one in between a couple of firs, but there's another big fir to come out tomorrow which might get in the way of the 2nd cedar, whether its left up or down.

I should probably video them anyway because they're quite big sticks. Thanks again.:thumbup1:
