Forst chippers

Hi all,

I've heard about the new 'Forst' chipper that's been launched by redwood, but don't have many details.

Are redwoods now selling this instead of the Jensen? Is there only a 6" tracked, or is there a variety of options?

Has anyone bought one of these yet? Feedback would be great! Thanks

I contacted Redwoods for demo of a Jensen A530t. the dealer arrived with a what looked like the jensen but was a Forst machine of the the same spec. My understanding is the Forst machine is being built in Britain by Redwoods but uses a lot of jensen components, I measured demo machine which is approx same length as Jensen but is approx 80cm wide mainly due to hinge for discharge tube and access panel. has open flywheel with two big blades think 8" but not sure.Wt. approx 1.3T so heavier than timberwolf which is just over a ton greenmech safetrack 1.4T but plenty of groundclearance if you need it. easy to access parts to service central 4 point grease point. Fed through usual selection of dif. material which it dealt with similar performance as any other chipper if processsing wet green leafy eg privet, leylandii hegde clippings just feed brash in then no probs. Looks well built am going to speak with Redwood today as need reassurance re back up as no local dealer and no user/owner track record and timberwolf dealer just matched offer/deal! Regards David

 That's what I thought also

Depends on what language you speak, it would be right in German, which given the Jensen link seems reasonable.

If you want a contradiction name stein is German for stone, considering they deal with wood HOLZ would have been more appropriate:laugh1:
