The fault is that the saw is too powerful for the clutch needle bearing and if atfer a while the needle bearing starts to break up and melt and then scores/ damages the crank shaft needing a full rebuild with a new crank.

They are a good saw to use very powerful etc but if this problem isnt sorted its going to put people off eventually.

I know of six saws that this has happened to, a couple of them twice! Not sure what to recommend only keep checking condition of bearing and replace every so often.?

i have had 261, had 550xp and now got 560xp

which is the best ground saw ive ever used,

261 is crap, ok for a few months but after a year or so starts falling to bits not good from a £500 saw:thumbdown:
