Just bumping the thread - it looks a good butt for some rustic outside furniture... can you confirm a few details -

  • the access looks good but is it?
  • What are the owners of the tree like in that do they just want to get it removed or do they feel they have a lot of money sitting there? Or is it just a freebie?
  • Clear up afterwards what would be expected?

Waiting for the owner to get back to me about access, there is a load of scrub/bramble in the way but that could prob be flattened should find out by tomorrow

It's free and i don't think he'd be worried about the clear up.

The root plate is up and it's pretty big so that may make it tricky though.

If it was relatively near me, I would have been very interested in taking a look (given that it can be milled on site) but unfortunately it's too far for making multiple trips to move it in slabs, and transport would kill it.

It also has a fair number of side branches, so will make rustic type stuff, rather than clean boards, which limits its usefulness.
