just be aware of uv joints on the props, they can lead to vibrations wreaking a gearbox. Um talking of gear boxes they seem to have common faults with bearings going. Also finding a 2nd hand gear box is like gold dust.

Just a few problems ive found. Mines getting its gear box dropped off in a few weeks to have 2nd and 3rd gears re done. BUT i must add mines been in peat marsh for a good few months so wear an tear is massively increased.

I really want one but am afraid of the mpg!!

I have a 2000 plate Mazda B2500(mine) and a 2010 plate Isuzu Rodeo(company car) and to be honest they aren't massively different in mpg. The Mazda is on ATs and the Isuzu is on Kumho KL71s. The Mazda is good for load carrying/towing but you do need to watch the rear springs. :001_smile:

I've had an 05 Thunder spacecab for about a year now. Average between 25 and 30 mpg. Had the ECU remapped from 109 bhp to 150 and a similar torque increase. Pulls hard in every gear, a really good tow truck. Considering adding air bags to the rear suspension to improve the stability and maintain the right height when fully loaded, but still be able to keep a comfy ride and some flex when empty. Anyone tried this ?
