This is what I have heard ...... The Honda engines are bomb proof but the drive system is too complex and when it give out its a pain . The equivalent Hayter is simpler and less of a problem . I cut grass but don't collect so non of this applies to me ( rough cut only ) . Any help ??

It could be a good idea to stay with Honda then that way you will still have spares of the old ones unless your selling them on. I work a Viking and never really had any problems with it I also run an etesia and that's a beast of a mower only really use it on a place that's rough and gets cut once a month and it handles it no probs saves getting the brushcutter out

Hayter Harrier 56 for me but I've heard a few moans about the newer models (cheaper plastic bits). My lot are between 6 and 12 years old quite simple under the deck. Briggs engines are a doddle too. Reasonable in the wet too and good finish.

The old ones were bombproof, the new ones not so good IMO. Weak roller drives, fragile plastic underbodies and poor collection.

The Kaz mower is the closest to the old Honda 536 models if you dont want to buy Honda.

It is the Kaz I shall be selling this season for 21' roller mowers. All smaller models will be John Deere, Stiga and ALKO.
