For my machines I use the local saw shop even tho its 40 miles away as they've been good to me if I have a repair even tho it costs a bit more to buy from them. For other stuff like clothing il buy online as its cheaper and saves a drive so I guess I'm sat on the fence:blushing::laugh1:

Depends what it is, my local husky dealer is good to me and gives me a discount, but they don't sell climbing kit or clothing like stretch air or meindl boots so I get that mail order from jonsie or clarks. If its tools though I like to get them local them if there is a problem I can just pop in.

Online because there is no local climbing retailer and machinery is very expensive compared to the uk. I have used Gustharts and FR Jones and both are fantastic on price and service. If i lived in the uk I would visit these stores to purchase kit so i could compare and get a feel for the kit, this is the down side to online sales imo.

Always online unless i know the one stihl local dealer has the part.

Frjones is my main source of kit but sometimes buy else where if its cheaper. if i need hands on like my current issue of 'which rope to buy' i have to drive just under 2 hrs to Buxton's being the closest
