Hi I wanted your thoughts on chainsaw trousers. I'm looking to purchase a pair for myself, i only cut wood for my firewood I'm not climbing or working with saws all day but I have access to a lot of wood from the farms I shoot on. I've tried on stihl trousers from the local farm supplies but they were no good, the waist was ok but the legs at the top were tight so they're not for me. I'm a 40-42 waist. What I wanted to know is if other makes are the same sort of fit or are the other makes more roomy. I thought I'd ask the experts before I place a wasted order online. Or bid on some on a well known auction site only to find there tight. Cheers Chris.

Stihl size pants very bizarrely. I had the same issue. Ordered a 34" waist and couldn't get them above my thighs. Returned them and went and got two sizes bigger just to get them to fit and they are still a tad tight on hot days. You really need to try stihl pants on before ordering.

Try Husqvarna, they always have plenty of leg room and waist size I always find preety spot on, try a pair on if you can, then maybe you could try bib & brace same time?

They will last you years so get it right first time and always wear them (not with trainers!!)

I have a pair of "c"'s and they are a lot warmer than the "A"'s you still get a cold arse though. Big sizes fit ok, but you might have a problem with leg length.
