After reading about far too many things being stolen,I thought that together we might be able to offer some tips to keep our gear secure.Wether it be chippers,Vans,lockups etc.

In case I failed to bore first time here's one I made earlier (a couple of days ago):

I'm going to get boring here and bang on about marking property again... yawn.

Spoke to a mate the other day who's a Crime Prevention Office in the Police and asked him for his general advice in arb circumstances. The answer was simple;

1) Mark it loud; it will obviously look stolen if nicked or will have to be vandalised to remove the markings.

2) Register it - for free with http://www.immobilise.com for smaller stuff (saws etc.), TER for plant (http://www.ter-europe.org).

For those who would prefer professional looking/corporate marking rather than home done stuff there are etching kits and similar available, e.g. http://www.cremark.co.uk, http://www.selectamark.co.uk and http://www.smartwater.co.uk. Immobilise also do their own kit (shown on the home page).

I'm done.

Its just as well they are all non-lethal then. If you were in South Africa, where they know a thing or two about booby traps, you would probably have burnt your own ankles off by now!

Didn't jeremy clarkson visit a firm in jo'burg that did these when he did jeremy clarkson's motorworld?

Following on from MasterBlaster this dog's for sale.

Apparently the owner cannot afford to feed him anymore, as there are no more thieves, murderers, or molesters left in the neighbourhood for him to eat.

Most of them knew him as 'Holy Sh*t'.
