Also how would a cutaway work on an art positioner/ where would it go?

Either between the swivel and krab or at the other end between the snap and the eye of the line...

You dont need a cut away with art positioner as you dont need to take the weight off of it to release it

That isn't the function of a cutaway. It's for ariel rescue - as in you can't cut through a steel flipline with a rescue knife.

Im aware what a cutaway is used for! Whats easier & quicker to just release it & undo it of have to get a knife out & cut it??

Just get a ten quid pulley and a length of cord. I find that a knut works well on a strop.

I don't know what it's called but my wire core flipline has some kind of mechanical grab,

squeeze it and it opens, and you can shorten it just by pushing it back through.

It's all you need. Chogging down, second line when ascending, safety line when up another stem.

Never without it.

If your flipline is at full extension then what? Send the guy back to the truck for the bolt croppers?

If you use a hitch & a pulley then you need a cuttable link for the same reason. If you cut the hitch then the pulley will run to the end of the line & remain captive.

Been using a grillon for about ten years though it is expensive at £80. You can get the art positioner for similar money and although never used it, I think would work better
