Petrol tank+Hole - Any fixes out there??

Hi People,

Got a 44 with a hole in the petrol tank just over 10mm by 2/3mm on the white/right side - not the clear side.

Thinking it could probably be plastic welded and this would be preferable than some kind of sealer. But any suggestions welcome.

I not feeling great about this right now so any positive suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I just bought a new tank for our 44 since the back handle cracked, well it is 10 years old:001_smile: the one from the 046 fits and its got the new cap, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your love or hate for them :001_smile: personally I like them.

It cost about £50 plus vat.

As for repairing your one plastic welding might be the best bet since a lot of the epoxy resins dont like fuel, although you can get some that are for repairing fuel tanks on cars but I dont know if they are for steel tanks only :confused1:

Don't know where you are in Kent, but there is a guy just outside Maidstone who does plastic welding, might do a little one off? I can weld plastic but have no equipment. A replacement tank would probably be the sensible option but I can get this blokes number if you want.
