Any arbtalking veg growers in da house?

Finally finished weeding my patch last week and got the rest of the peas, onions and my courgettes and squash in, main problem is next doors cats coming through the bottom of the hedge and flattening one row of onions :sneaky2: on the plus side after two failed attempts at growing tomato from seed this year, I got some for free when went to the feed place for my chicken corn I got offered some as they had got a bit wind burnt so was told to take what I wanted so took one of each variety, potted them on took of the damaged leaves and are now growing like good un's :thumbup:

Been getting down to our allotment much more this season. Bit of a washout last year (like most people's) -ended up pretty discouraged.

Bit early for much produce yet, but got out early to pick the first of the spinach for breakfast today.

Broccolis been going nuts, three massive bags in the freezer and now cropping for a second time! cant eat the darn stuff fast enough! and now with the first early spuds (Duke of York) Im well set for months!

 

Got to say i had forgotten just how satisfying and flavour full this old lark is!:thumbup1:

did you pick the duke of yorks because they a heritage variety or was it

a random selection

being an old type is probably why they taste so good not to messed about with

but resistant to not a lot i.e. blight & pests

Bit late getting my spuds in so just got my first earlys tonight. I gave up the old veg growing and just did spuds, carrot courgetts and spring onions this year. You cant beat the taste of home grown new pots. We just cannot get brassicas to grow in the soil here. No sprouts or broccali here.

Got six different tomatoes on the go. Aint grown any for a few years, I know you need to nip out the side shoots until you get to four or five trusses then nip out the tops.

 

What happens after that.....do you let them do their own thing to produce more trusses or do I need to keep clipping anything?
