When my old neighbour came round and a bottle was opened the cork was usually thrown out straight away.

Don't go expensive too quick Dean. There's loads of good whisky's around the £35 mark. Once you know what sort of whisky you like then go expensive on the similar labels.

Funny init, had similar experiences as others. Tried whisky when I was in my teens never really rated it to be honest always found it a bit harsh, and then avoided it for decades. Not sure if our memories dull and tastes become more refined, or is it vice versa.

I did drink JD for years and always eschewed the old scotch until someone introduced me to the delights of a nice single malt from the Orkenay's and I realised my mistake. Its not whisky per se that I did'nt like it was blended whisky that was not to my taste. So now I'm hooked on the single malts and I love 'em, but only in the last 3-4 yrs!

As with others, another biggup for Jura. Jura Superstition is my fave. Bottle never seems to last long though! :blushing:

For Christmas the old dear asked me what I'd like, so I just said "oh a nice bottle of whisky will do"", to my sister, same question, same answer. :001_smile:

On Christmas day I opened, a 1ltr bottle of Bell's and a bottle of Jack Daniels Honey! :001_huh: Doh, I've barely got a dram left in the current opened bottle of Bowmore (Islay), and I'm dreading finishing it as I'll then have to open the presents! Well I hate waste.... :001_rolleyes:
