Went out for a meal last night and sampled Laphroaig

 

I think I have just found my favourite whisky so far, absolutely georgous

I,m still favouring the Jura, I,m preferring the smoky...peaty types I think

 

Lagavulin is about the smokiest/peatiest I've found so far - not something I'd want all the time but it was nice on occasion. Bit like Laphroaig (sp) but heavier again. It's worth a try

Got bought Caol Ila 12 years for my birthday last week, really really good:thumbup:

Was in Gordon and Macphails in Elgin during the week.

 

Their own version of Caol Ila was superb..

A friend told me of spending new year on lismore, a guy was showing off his whiskey knowledge, he handed a glass to one of the older islanders saying " this one is 25 years old" . "at 25 years old you'd think he'd be a little bigger" said the old man...

I have to agree Paul, now I have sat and compared them ( purely experimental you understand ) I have found my taste to be in the upper right quadrant
