Can you not phone and explain to the revenue, they may set up a payment plan?? Iv paid off a tax bill in 2 payments before. No point getting stressed out over it that's for sure! Its only money! Just be upfront with them. They won't be getting anything of me till theres money in the account! it's hard for us all at this time of year

+1

It won't cost anything to ask!

If you can make it clear, you'll be able to pay your dues but need the truck to generate income they may well be a little more flexible. It is still a set of rules, interpreted by people, so talk to the people, don't bust yourself against the rules.

cheers guys advice heeded. Actually feel like my head is going to explode today.

pay it in installments ,say over 4ths ,set it up on yr internet banking if you have or just the slips they send with the reminders, not worth getting stressed over or selling kit, that will compound the situataion , coz then you will have less kit to earn with ,:001_smile:

I have fought to save the truck from the axe but it has to go, got a tax bill that i have not been able to raise no matter how hard I have tried.

who else is having hard times? I hate winter.

the ad is on gumtree if anyone is pretty handy with a spanner.

Whens the tax bill due? End of this month, or is this overdue already?

times are hard

you should be putting a quarter of your earnings away each month into a tax account then when the time comes the money is there.

you have obviously earnt the pennies for the tax man to charge you.

i had same thing a few years back, since then I put little and often away, sometimes each month I put more in to cover the months when I pay less in. Either that or you have calculated your bill wrong, either way to sell kit to pay the bill isn't going the right way as its making your life harder to earn the pennies.

Hope u get it all sorted tho mate, and you'll be cutting hedges again in no time :)

sit tight and ride it out :)

Thanks for the replies guys. To be honest, part of the reason im letting the truck go is because I've be seen in crisis for the past few months. Having to pay the tax bill is simply the last straw that is why im having to let the truck go. Else I would, as some suggest, get on the phone to them to sort something out.

Just hard times in general really, get tired of fighting to do a service that I love doing.
