Think I asked this on the thread introducing the back-handle version: what's the warranty like, and does it cover the battery?

 

I have a wide range of makita li-ion tools and batteries, and when the charger decides the battery is no good it'll refuse to charge it forever more, this is without any previous noticeable issues or drop in power.

When batteries are £145 they'd need to be fully covered under warranty as far as I'm concerned.

 

The saw and charger has a 2 year warranty (same on all husky kit) The batteries have a lifespan of approx 1000 charges so warranty is limited to this value. And apparently yes, the charge cycles are recorded on the battery!

How long is a recharge ?

If it takes 3hrs then you will need more than 2 batteries.

 

typical lifespan of a high drain battery is poor.

I'd not rush out to get one that's for sure.

The battery last upto 35mins and charge time is 25-35mins

If you read all the specs carefully, it's pretty convincing.

I have had one out on demo,& quite convinced its the way forward,no replacement for the good old 200t,but the safety aspects are ahead of the game,& its a very useful saw.

Think there was a guy from Holland using it, he was talking about it on Treebuzz I think, he seemed very impressed with it and he has put up a few videos, one which was on a small oak tree, from the videos it seemed pretty good. He reckons he can get by on 2 batteries a day

 

i reckon he would get by on one battery if he just cut the sodding branches off instead of dressing things out !lol:lol:

That would have created a bit of a problem on the ground with people trying to use the road underneath as well broh

 

But sure some days I only need one charged battery and other days I just keep on charging one after the other.....
