I'd say the important specification is that it has a bar, a chain with cutters on, a power source which generates rotation to drive the chain round and some form of connection between the power source and the chain - probably a sprocket.

 

Don't think I can narrow it down much more than the above on the information provided.

Have a wooden block at the cutting end and not a 'plank' at the other!:biggrin:

If you need a spec then just ask, sure one of the clever people on here can help:thumbup1:

 

I don't expect a battery electric one to compare well with a petroil one but what does 30 minutes run time (mentioned for the husky lion powered one)mean in practice, e.g. has anyone cut 5" discs until the battery of one of these runs out?

the husky is 35volts. the oregen say it will cut for 2 hours on full chat how many run a saw non stop for 2 hours. not used one interested in using one. ideal for cutting small limbs as only a 10inch bar with small pico chain. oregen does have a self sharpener included. so getting near ground if you hit the ground you can resharpen it in 5 seconds
