Lets be honest here, how many dealers actually really know what they're talking about when it comes to using the saws they sell?

 

 

 

Absolutely.

 

 

generally what i do is think what bar size i want then buy the saw that has that size as the minimum size it can run. although i do have a 24" on a 262xp pulls it all day long though

I think spud off here posted this.

To get the maximum bar length for any given saw (roughly of course), divide the engine size by 3 (ie 35cc, 12" ... 70cc, 24")

I've got an 18 inch bar for the 261 and it pulls it round but is so much better with the 15 on it. But since I got the 560xpg it's just sat in the yard and not really been used

 

I got the 18 and the 13. 18s proper sluggish

Agree with that so it doesn't get used much now as I've recently got 390xp and the 560xpg so have most bases covered now. It seemed to do the job but as you say I'd hate to use it at max bar for long periods

Don't do it Pete stick to the stihl best thing i ever did once bitten twice shy husky 575xp was shite!! buy a 261 or that 280 uve got of mine?

 

yet the 576xp is a belter of a saw.
