the swedish log sounds a good idear once thats going good for a brew cook some lunch and a warm up when needed need to get some fresh fir. all the stuff i have is old and dry and going in wood burner

Anyone know the difference between the aluminium an stainless steel one? Is it just more robust?

 

I lent my ally one to the kids and somehow there was a hole melted through the inside when I got it back, so had to loose it. I would go for the stainless next time, but it wont be as efficient I suspect.

HI ROD did they boil it dry mate i got a new at a car boot for £12 :thumbup1:thanks jon :thumbup:

Does it cook the bacon in the same time as takes to boil the water? And is that a bespoke frying pan

 

Unfortunately No but with if full can manage to pour the water out whilst bacons still on. Its only a few more minutes before your enjoying your bacon roll. So its all good :thumbup:

Are they any good for leaving permanently on the side of an Aga/Rayburn to keep warm and moving to the main hotplate to boil when needed?

I hike as well and have the BackcountryBoiler;(google if nec) a smaller alu US cousin of the KK. Does two cups of water and weighs 9oz. The fire pan is a little small any ideas to make a larger one so you can have a one stoke set up. A swedish log would work but be a bit fierce. A small ring fire with around three stones has also been tried.
