The Protos Forest is for groundies. The Protos Arborist is for climbers.

I got the Arborist cos I bought it from a shop in Holland.

It won't be available here for months because of our retarded HSE and CE system.

I've had mine 3 months now, best helmet I've had so far :) the only difference between the groundy and climbers helmet is the addition of the chin strap I think.

Great for climbing, nothing to snag on and fits like a dream!

Are there higher rated defenders yet?

Not yet, bikewoo. Customers needing higher SNR rating are using plugs with their Protos for those applications that require it. As the ear defenders conveniently park up inside the helmet, this doesn't cause them any inconvenience at all.

The chin strap is one difference Jaydubb. The other is the Koroyd insert in the crown of the Arb Protos. Koroyd is a highly technical material made from heat welded plastic rods that gives incredible strength, yet is incredibly light in weight. (Same product that Airbus use in their planes). Under test conditions Protos with the Koroyd insert fitted has withstood a top impact of 2 tonnes (please don't try this at home!!) - making Protos the safest helmet on the market.

Great to hear you are happy with your Protos! :-)

Morning Yve Clark.

I'm looking at my helmet, which part is the koroyd insert? The soft padding material or the plastic web to which it is attached?

Well I never thought I would get a Protos helmet but..... I have and its amazing, light and very well fitting, the visor is superb and the ear protection fits like a glove, well worth the money, and considering you wear it so much no big deal. I would recommend them.
