Aluminum Chipper Bodies

I was wondering if you guys can post up pics of your aluminum chipper bodies. Side angles, rear angles, anything!

I am going to be building another one this winter for one of my trucks I just put an aluminum flatbed on. I was just looking to see if there was any neat ideas I've missed, or would any ideas I would like to incorporate.

I'm really stuck on how I want to rear doors, so that's one of the things.

Thanks!

Hi Brendon. This company makes some of the nicest bodies in the UK. Might be worth a look for ideas.

Tipmaster - Specialist Conversions

I used these:

Solent Body Builders | Commercial Vehicle Body Builders and Repairers, CCTV Cameras and Signage | Accident Repair Service

and they were about 60% cheaper than Tipmaster, the product and quality is identical. Speak to Steve and tell him Alasdair sent you and he'll really look after you well.

Here's my iveco. I built it last December and has lasted well for the last year. It has a few little scrapes and a couple of dents (from me being stupid and putting a 500kg log splitter in the back and not tying it down. Went around a few corners and it bounced from side to side and I now have matching bulges either side!)

It's made from 50x50x1.6mm Steel box frame, with 3mm aluminium sides and doors. It's lined with 12mm ply on the headboard and 2ft up on the sides.

For the size of the box, it was cheaper and lighter to do it this way instead of ally planking.

I hope there's some food for thought in these pics.

Those are standard European fittings, you can buy them at plenty of suppliers in the UK

Try these links, I have used Jagger’s and Service because they are local, good people to deal with but I think the shipping might kill it for you
