I believe they are. most cases I have of heard of have been caught orally . Rats urinating in water .

 

Iv'e worked with a couple of lads that have had it (both worked with waste water/sewage). Its a nasty thing to catch. We found one of the lads unconscious on Thetford sewage works and rushed him to hospital.....From what we were told it was touch and go if he would live......He made a full recovery :thumbup1:

There was a well known falconer a good few years ago caught weil's and died from it . Had many a good day ferreting them with the terriers , innoculations cover lepto i'm sure , dogs will be fine :001_smile:

Ps as someone has already said i think, treat them with respect as any other quarry they are fascinating and clever animals
