Beginners climbing guide, hints, tips and general climbing techniques

Picked up some accessory cord, however I picked up a prusik loop instead of an eye to eye cord, no idea how I'm going to attach my pulley for my lanyard now, as I was watching a video on using a soft lanyard with a pulley and he was using an eye to eye and putting the pulley between the two. Is it still possible to use a pulley on a soft lanyard with a loop instead of eye to eye?

Of corse it is possible to use a pulley with a loop. The only limitation is: you can only use a prussik (french) hitch or a swabish with a loop cord. I would recomend a swabish, tie a prussic in the end of the lanyard and then remove some bottom coils.

There's always this way. Similar to the one with the paracord but using a spare prussik loop if you have one. Works really well with a foot ascender or foot locking.

It may be usable on the other side but I found this works really well. Only really used it for a few months before moving on to a hitch climber.

I use a small bridge so my prussik was fairly close and a pain in the arse when using a foot ascender on long climbs. So this meant I got a better advance.

Are people still climbing on prussiks...not that im knocking it,its basic, functional and works but its hugley unergonomic and hard on the body.

Mechanical friction devices coupled with ascenders are way more efficient and will prolong your career as well as up your productivity.
