  4. Hi all, I'm just starting up on my own and wondering what people use to track their milage. Do people use an automated app or just do it the old fashioned way? Cheers.
  5. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has used the solidur type c trousers and if so what are they like? Cheers.
  6. In my honest opinion the problem isn't always the "youths" (granted some are lazy cunts). You need a shit deflector, I'm not talking about a manager but a first step line manager like a lead climber who has the right attitude and a good sense of leadership. Leadership isn't the ability to tell someone what to do or how to do it, it's the ability to get someone to want to do something they ordinarily wouldn't do, in this case earn their wage and graft. Having this person in your company will ease your work load and make your life simpler. However you have to find him/her.
  7. Yeah I know it's not from the gov website I was just looking for information on it. Thanks.
  8. Thanks, that helps. Yeah could be the reason.
  9. https://www.wastecarrierslicence.co.uk/?gclid=CjwKCAjw_b3cBRByEiwAdG8WquXcyiMKSy52lLuVA9VV4j8OVuhSyznjXWvY_SIgPBS2lql_HfYCSBoCH9cQAvD_BwE If you scroll down to the tiers it gives a couple of examples and gardener is one of them.
  10. I work for a fella at the moment and we've never been asked when we have been to a recycling place so not sure if he has one, I know quite a few people dont.
  11. Hi all. I'm looking at going self employed and I'm unsure as to which of the two types we fall under. The EA say that it's lower tier if the waste is produced directly from works carried out by your business, however I've seen that the licencing website quotes gardeners as requiring an upper tier licence. I'm not a gardener but I'm not sure whether we would be grouped in with them or am I missing something? Cheers Adam.
  12. Friction cord is still subjected to sever bend radiuses. A lot of people make their own custom length friction hitches with a fisherman's on a bight as well as sewn eye cord. Also they can still be subjected to shock loading forces if you fall whilst using them as either prusik or another friction hitch.
  13. Haha it's not a tape sling, it's a stein bridge, I don't know why I refer to it as a tape bridge. I just like to try alternatives.
  14. Haha cheers, not really a fan of the sewn eye bridges, I've got a tape bridge at the minute, just thought I'd see if anyone's had any experience with it.
  15. No it's for a courant koala, they normally have a sewn eye rope bridge.
  16. Has anyone used Marlow boa as a bridge? My current bridge needs replacing and we have a real of boa at the yard.
  17. Thanks that's pretty helpful.
  18. Sorry forgot to ask about how it wares and slippages
  19. Did you go from a hitch climber to it or from a device, I'm currently using a spiderjack 2 which I like on a 13mm rope but I'm looking at changing to a thinner line as well. Not really intending on going srt but I like the idea of being able to apply it mid line.
  20. I imagine that CE markings will be migrated into British law if they aren't already. Do you use it for drt or just srt? I'm really keen on trying one however if I can't get on with it I'm stuck with an expensive paper weight.
  21. Hi all, does anyone know if rock ex have any plans on having the unicender CEd for use in the UK? Cheers.
  22. Just wondering if anyone has bought and used the DMM Worksafe plus rope for tree work? If so how do you get on with it. Thanks Adam
