6 metres is pretty big, mines only 4. When out on a limb, move your flip line/side strop onto your bridge with your main line and then use it as a second line. When you finished at your work station, stow it back on your side d's so it doesn't get in the way and you can use it with ease at other stations.

As a beginner climber I sometimes struggle getting a good work position, so was just wondering if experienced climbers have any tips on how to wrap your legs around the branch to get a good position? Especially if there is no fork to get a foot/leg in.

 

 

Take up a endless sling with u. Once u get out on to the branch and almost in position wrap the sling around the branch and use as a foot hold to stand out straight in bud.

Ive also got a 7m CE lanyard from Skyland equipment and if needs be wrap that around an above branch giving me a 2nd tie in point. The thimble on it keeps the crab away from the branch and stops side loading
