No it's not acceptable not only for the fact it affects warter and soil but also because of something closer to home very upsetting .

What worries me about that report is that it includes loads of references, and every single one of them is to another article on their own web site. Looking at the reports referred to, many of the references in those are again to their own web site, and so on.

 

My attitude is that it's a herbicide - you're not supposed to drink the stuff, and I wouldn't eat anything recently sprayed with it. Read the label for more safety instructions.

Does anyone know any Eco ways of poisoning stumps as we use roundup at the moment and as tony has brought this to light I will not be using again . Cheers for the info tony.

 

we use timbrel on stumps away from watercoarses... awsome stuff but i recon thats on its way out too

Not to mention the fact that if you want to see the full references - you need to pay £3.50. Not very transparent - and almost guarantees a self selected and supportive audience...

However, that article was seriously flawed. Where was the dosage information? It mentioned figures like 500mg/l - what does that mean? Blood concentration? A one-off dose? A daily does? An hourly dose?

Allright guys did they mention the carrier agent used in glyphosate. my understanding of glyphosate is that normally the carring agent is the nasty ingrediant that cause alot of the problems to humans.
