as fungi goes, its deffo one of the pretty ones!..always looks like it would be quite tasty..not that I'd fancy trying the stuff myself!:001_smile:

 

As I understand it it is, though not one for the faint of heart I suspect:001_smile:

 

that is not condoning the consumption, you do so at your own risk, and no returns!:sneaky2: but roger says it is too:thumbup:

I take it from a bit of refresher reading that in general once the fruiting bodies start to show in this sort of size on a beech its almost always a death sentance by saw or by wind sending it crashing down, shame as this could be anouther mature street tree lost and never replanted.
