Sorry to resurrect an old thread but....

I've got a broken band on a 2013/14 model 560, searching reveals two different part no's 5051995-01 or 02.

As I've only just become aware of it (no-one told us before the disappeared for the xmas break) I'm now trying to source one online as all the regular suppliers are shut and don't return to work until we do.

Well I had an interesting phone call off my dealer today letting me know that he has been at Husqvarna and they have sorted the problem with the chain brake band snapping and they have also brought out a new starter casing that has been re designed so fingers crossed that it will solve the issues I have had. Watch this space, I may have a MS 362 to sell if the 560 is sorted. lOL!!

HI HODGE do not tell me YOU GOT ONE FOR XMAS THE 2014 SAWS ARE GOOD THANKS JON

The 560 band originely had a slot cut out of the band close to the knee link joint, this weakened the band and this is where it breaks, this was part no. 505199501, the slot has now been taken away and the part no. changed to 505199502.

and this original band had the slot in it to shave a tinzy weenzy micro gram of weight from the total ! The best way I have found to stop the band from snapping is to not use the brake :001_smile: . Mine is one of the very first 2011 saws and the slotted band is still in tact

Problem with using the chain break is you cant then be going hell for leather at timber full on the throttle.

I never use the brake . Never have . Goes against modern rules but its habitual . They never had a brake , or AV when I first picked one up :001_smile:
